Governor Ayedatiwa Vows to Strengthen Ties Between Ondo State and FUTA
Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa of Ondo State has pledged to bolster the relationship between the state government and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, has pledged to enhance the enduring relationship between the state government and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He made this commitment during a courtesy visit by FUTA's management, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, to express condolences on the demise of the former governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and felicitate with Governor Ayedatiwa on his assumption of office.

Governor Ayedatiwa acknowledged the longstanding partnership between FUTA and Ondo State, particularly in Akure, the host city, dating back to previous administrations. He praised the late Governor Akeredolu's contributions and acknowledged him as instrumental in his own political journey. The governor assured the delegation that security around FUTA would be bolstered, and road infrastructure near the institution would be addressed by the state's Ministry of Works.
He emphasized the importance of FUTA to Ondo State's development, highlighting its role in tax remittance, intellectual capital building, and human resource development. Governor Ayedatiwa lauded the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oladiji, for her leadership qualities and commended FUTA's contribution to national development through its graduates' achievements.

In response, Vice-Chancellor Professor Oladiji expressed gratitude for the support of Ondo State in facilitating FUTA's peaceful operation. She appealed for increased state support in security and road maintenance around the university campus, particularly near the North and South gates. Professor Oladiji emphasized FUTA's significant student population and the need for adequate security measures to ensure their safety.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were key officials from FUTA, including Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, Deans, and Directors, who echoed the plea for enhanced support from the state government.
The meeting signifies the continued collaboration between Ondo State and FUTA, demonstrating a commitment to mutual growth and development. Governor Ayedatiwa's promise to strengthen ties reaffirms the importance of partnerships in advancing educational and socio-economic goals within the state.
