FUTA's Department of Civil Engineering Facilitates Students-Lecturers Forum
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) recently hosted a Students-Lecturers Forum organized by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Students' Affiliate - FUTA Chapter (NICESA Futa Chapter).
In a bid to foster constructive dialogue and address pertinent issues within the academic community, the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Students' Affiliate - FUTA Chapter (NICESA Futa Chapter), organized a Students-Lecturers Forum at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).

The event, which witnessed a significant turnout, brought together students from various levels of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, alongside esteemed lecturers and departmental officials, including the Head of Department, Prof. O. J. Oyedepo, and registration officers - Dr. Mrs. T. F. Ajibade, Dr. O. O. Omotayo, Dr. A. I. Quadri, Dr. F. O. Ajibade, Dr. Mrs. M. O. Ojo, and Dr. S. Akingbonmire.
Before the commencement of formal proceedings, attendees had the opportunity to engage in informal discussions, facilitated by proactive students. These interactions aimed to familiarize participants, particularly those in the 100 and 200 levels, with the purpose of the forum and encouraged their active involvement in academic and leadership activities.

Throughout the forum, lecturers provided valuable insights into departmental operations, addressing concerns such as course registration procedures and examination protocols. Active participants, seized the opportunity to pose pertinent questions, including inquiries about the orientation process for 400-level students in selecting project supervisors. Additionally, they also advocated for the integration of technical skills courses to enhance the curriculum's comprehensiveness.
Furthermore, the students emphasized the importance of safeguarding school identification cards and receipts, underlining the significance of prioritizing student security.
The forum concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing satisfaction at the constructive dialogue that transpired between students and lecturers. Reflecting on the event's significance, reiterated the importance of leveraging information and fostering relationships to excel academically at FUTA.
The success of the forum was credited to the executive members of NICESA FUTA Chapter for their proactive efforts in organizing the event and providing a platform for meaningful engagement within the academic community.
