Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, is set to deliver the 52nd convocation lecture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), a premier institution in South-East Nigeria known for its academic excellence. The lecture, scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2024, will be a highlight of the university's week-long convocation ceremony.

Governor Uzodinma's participation marks a significant moment, making him one of the few sitting governors in Nigeria to engage in such an intellectual event at a university convocation. The lecture, which starts at 10 a.m. at the Nsukka campus, is expected to attract a wide range of dignitaries, including all South East governors and other distinguished personalities from across the nation.

According to a statement signed by Professor Bennett C. Nwanguma, Chairman of the Senate Ceremonials Committee at UNN, the convocation lecture is a key event in the university's week-long program, leading up to the awarding of first degrees and certificates on Friday, May 10, followed by the awarding of higher degrees and honorary doctorates on Saturday, May 11.

Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, expressed his excitement about the upcoming lecture. Emelumba emphasized that the chosen topic would resonate with the academic community, the political class, and the public at large, offering thought-provoking insights into Nigeria's path forward.
