Governor Peter Mbah officially inaugurated a six-man governing council for the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) on Wednesday. Chinyeaka Ohaa assumes the role of chairman within the council.

The additional council members include Ikenna Chukwu, James Ifeanyi, Gladys Okoro, Chinedu Onu, and Dr. Eric Oluedo.

He expressed confidence in the council's competencies and its potential to enhance both the institution and the state government.

Governor Mbah urged the council to prioritize operational effectiveness and foster collaboration with ESUT's management team to achieve the institution's objectives. He emphasized the significance of effective financial management and investment control within the university.

Acknowledging the auspicious timing of their appointments, Governor Mbah highlighted the government's commitment to education, allocating 33 percent of the annual budget to this sector.
