Governor Sanwo-Olu Constitutes 13th Governing Council of Lagos State University

In a move reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing the quality of education in State-owned tertiary institutions, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the constitution of the 13th Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU).

According to a statement issued by Mrs. Oluwayemisi A. Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPPR), Lagos State University, the composition of the newly constituted Governing Council is as follows:

• Mr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN – Chairman
• Mr. Oluseyi Badmus – Member
• Mr. Bode Makanjuola – Member
• Mrs. Mojisola Tolagbe Taiwo – Member
• Professor Shaffudeen Amuwo – Member
• Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, FCA – Member
• Ms. Kofo Durosimi Etti – Member
• Dr. Farouk Gumel – Member
• Mrs. Adenike Akanbi, FCA – Member
• Mr. Biodun Hundeyin – Member
• Dr. Remi Desalu – Member

The appointment of the Governing Council takes effect from Friday, 31st October 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on behalf of Management and the entire University Community, congratulated the newly appointed members and wished them a successful tenure. She expressed confidence that their expertise and leadership would further advance the University’s vision and consolidate its culture of academic excellence.

With this development, Lagos State University looks forward to a strengthened governance framework and renewed institutional progress under the guidance of the newly constituted Council.
