Tragedy struck Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), as a 300-level Linguistics student, identified as Emmanuel, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen over the weekend. The incident occurred at his residence within a private student hostel in the university community.

The university community is engulfed in tension and grief, with the motive behind the attack remaining unclear. The Vice Chairman of the National Association of University Students (NAUS) in Ondo State, Oladele Emmanuel, expressed profound sorrow and concern over the incident. “The circumstances surrounding this tragedy remain unclear, leaving us all with questions and a deep sense of loss,” he told DAILY POST.

Emphasizing the need for swift justice, Oladele Emmanuel called on the AAUA management, the state government, and security operatives to conduct a thorough investigation. “It is imperative that justice prevails swiftly and the perpetrators of this heinous act are held accountable. The university community must be reassured that such a tragic event will be met with the full force of the law and diligent investigative efforts,” he stated.
