Her Death is a Collosal Loss, IAUE VC Mourns Late Professor Agabi
The Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Professor Okechuku Onuchuku has described the death of Professor (Mrs) Chinyere Onyemaechi Agabi as a colossal loss.

Speaking during the fourth Special Convocation ceremony in her honour on Friday November 10, 2023 at the university auditorium, the Vice Chancellor informed that the deceased was a great scholar, strong woman of integrity and remarked that she was never found wanting in the discharge of her duties, neither was she part of the cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the university system. He noted that she kept to the tenets of the teaching profession, executed her job professionally without asking for gratification . Professor urged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that she lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation adding that the university would continue to pray for the repose of her soul and for the entire family.
While showering encomiums on his late colleague, the Dean Faculty of Education Professor Livinus Ogbondah pointed out that the deceased was a prolific writer, committed and dedicated team player who never participated in the sorting business. He disclosed that the vacuum that she created with her demise would be difficult to fill and prayed God to give the family that she left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Also speaking, the immediate past Director of the University Advancement Centre Professor Emmanuel Chisa Ibara stated that the university would miss her academic contributions in the field of Economics. He described her as a principled and amiable colleague, a woman of many parts who advocated for things to be done the right way.
Mr Obido Chimezie Dennis who represented the President of the Faculty of Education Students Association said that they were pained by the death of their lecturer whom he hinted was a great asset to the ivory tower.

In his speech, the husband of the late Professor Chinyere Onyemaechi, Dr Ogar Agabi expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, his Management team and the entire University staff and students for the honour done to his wife.
While agreeing that God gives and takes and that death is a natural phenomena and call that everyone would answer to, expressed happiness that nothing negative was said about his late wife.
A retired staff of the Faculty of Education and Department of Educational Management, Professor (Mrs) Rose Ngozichukwu Amanchukwu was among dignitaries who flew in to pay their last respects to their colleague, friend and 35th inaugural lecturer late Professor (Mrs) Chinyere Onyemaechi Agabi.
