This ugly habit is also being exhibited by some staff as well as students, who switch on the bulbs and ceiling fans in the classrooms and hostels and abandon the electrical appliances indefinitely. The recent fire incident in the female hostel is a case in point.

It is even worse if the ceiling fans, air conditioners, televisions, pressing irons are not turned off over the weekends or public holidays. This has huge financial implications on the University, apart from the exposure of the entire building to electrical fire outbreak from sensitive points.
