IBBUL Set to Shine at 2025 NUGA Games with Record-Breaking Ambition
The Director of Sports at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), Professor Mohammed Aliyu, has expressed confidence in the university's athletes to deliver a record-breaking performance at the upcoming 2025 Nigeria University Games (NUGA) in Jos. The games are scheduled to take place from November 6 to 16, 2025, at the University of Jos.
IBBUL's athletes had an impressive outing at the Pre-NUGA trials in Abuja, winning several medals and qualifying for the main event. The university excelled in various sporting categories, including athletics, taekwondo, tennis, and relay events. Professor Aliyu attributed the success to the collective efforts of the students, coaches, medical staff, and supporting personnel.
To prepare for the NUGA Games, IBBUL will commence camping activities immediately in Lapai. The athletes will undergo a two-week training camp before proceeding to Jos for the main event. Professor Aliyu assured that the university will present all its contingents and their medals to the Management before departing for Jos.
Professor Aliyu praised the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, for his unwavering support and investment in sports development at IBBUL. The Vice Chancellor's commitment to sports has been instrumental in the university's success in various competitions.
With a strong track record of excellence in university games, IBBUL is poised to dominate the 2025 NUGA Games. Professor Aliyu expressed confidence in the athletes' ability to bring home gold medals, saying, "We are not just coming back with silver; we are coming back with gold."
