Ibusa Community Honours ADUN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, for Promoting Academic Excellence and Goodwill
The Ibusa Community Development Union (ICDU) Worldwide on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, hosted a grand reception in honour of the Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi Ogbogbo, at the Obuzor Palace, Ibusa. The event, themed “Fostering Academic Excellence and Goodwill,” celebrated his outstanding contributions to education, leadership, and community development.
The Ibusa Community Development Union (ICDU) Worldwide on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, hosted a grand reception in honour of the Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi Ogbogbo, at the Obuzor Palace, Ibusa. The event, themed “Fostering Academic Excellence and Goodwill,” celebrated his outstanding contributions to education, leadership, and community development.

The ceremony was graced by traditional rulers, academics, government officials, and community members. It began with the arrival of Professor Ogbogbo, who paid homage to His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) Louis Chelunor Nwaoboshi, before proceeding to the venue in a colourful procession accompanied by titled chiefs and traditional dancers showcasing Ibusa’s rich cultural heritage.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Onowu Osita Ephraim Nwadei, highlighted the community’s pride in celebrating one of its illustrious sons. This was followed by cultural performances by the UBO-OGAZU Cultural Group and the breaking of kolanuts to officially open the ceremony.
President General of ICDU Worldwide, Chief Victor Uchuno, commended Professor Ogbogbo for his visionary leadership, academic integrity, and steadfast commitment to human capital development. He described the honouree as a true ambassador of Ibusa whose work continues to inspire both within and beyond the academic community.

Goodwill messages poured in from dignitaries, including Professor Dili Ofuokwu, Hon. Barr. Princess Pat Ajudua, and Hon. Innocent Esewezie, who all praised Professor Ogbogbo’s humility, excellence, and transformative impact. His Royal Majesty, Prof. L.C. Nwoboshi, also applauded the Vice Chancellor’s achievements, urging Ibusa youths to emulate his discipline and drive for excellence.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards and gifts to Professor Ogbogbo by the ICDU and other well-wishers. In his remarks, the ADUN Vice Chancellor expressed deep gratitude to the Ibusa community for the honour, reaffirming his commitment to making Admiralty University a globally competitive institution with strong local relevance.

The event concluded with cultural music, a vote of thanks by Sir Paul Okobi, Vice President General of ICDU Worldwide, and a closing prayer, marking a memorable day of unity, recognition, and celebration of excellence.
