Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) has commenced a one-week free medical outreach for inhabitants of Okada and neighboring communities in Ovia North-East Local Government Area.

Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) commenced a one-week free medical outreach for inhabitants of Okada and neighboring communities in Ovia North-East Local Government Area.

The doors of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital Okada have been thrown open to members of the public as the university begins its free medical outreach for the less privileged in the locality and beyond.

Declaring the medical outreach open, the Chief Medical Director and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University Okada, Prof. Godwin Nosakhare Bazuaye, appreciated the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, for throwing his weight behind the program.

Prof. Bazuaye also charged the beneficiaries of the free clinic to continue to pray for the Honourable Chancellor of Igbinedion University Okada, His Excellency, Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion CFR, The Esama of Benin Kingdom, for always remembering the less privileged in society by sponsoring the periodic free medical exercise for them.

Patients came in large numbers from Okada and the neighboring communities of Okha, Iguomon, Usen, Utesi, Igbogor, Okokpon, Ogbese, Uhen, Iguobazuwa,Iyera, Iguiye, Isiuwa, Ugbokun, Ugbogui, Ofosu, Siluko, and Udo, as well as other communities across the state.

The free medical outreach is put together as part of activities marking the 24th Founder’s Day of the nation’s premier and leading private university, Igbinedion University Okada.

The free clinic, which kicked off on Monday, June 5th, will come to a close on Saturday, June 10th, 2023.
