IMAP Bans Final Year Sign-out Celebrations for Safety and Discipline

The management of Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic, Lafia (IMAP) has announced a ban on the traditional final year sign-out celebrations. This decision comes in response to growing concerns over safety and misconduct associated with the event.

In recent years, the sign-out ritual, which involves final-year students marking the end of their academic journey by wearing signed t-shirts and engaging in celebratory activities, has reportedly led to disturbances and cases of unruly behavior on campus.

The Polytechnic’s administration, in a statement, emphasized the need for maintaining discipline and a conducive academic environment. The management called on students to celebrate responsibly and avoid activities that could tarnish the institution’s reputation.

This ban, effective immediately, will impact the current set of final-year students who are preparing to complete their studies.
