Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia Hosts Mr. and Miss Culture Contest

The Students Union Government (SUG) of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, led by President Comr. Jacob John Mutuwa, organized the Mr. and Miss Culture Contest on Day 3 of the Students Week 2024. The event, themed "The Impact of Technology on Social Activities," showcased the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria's ethnic groups and tribes.

Twenty-two contestants representing various tribes and ethnic groups participated in the contest, which featured a dinner attire showcase, cultural presentations, and traditional dances. The contestants also presented their respective meals and explained the history and significance of their costumes.

Dean of Students Affairs, Ambassador Sunday Shammah Kpanja, commended the school management for providing the platform for students to showcase their cultural heritage. He encouraged the contestants to consider themselves winners already, but noted that the judges' decision would be final.

After a thorough judging process, Contestant 2 from Akwa Ibom emerged as Mr. Culture with a total score of 205, while Contestant 13 from Alago emerged as Miss Culture with a total score of 204.

The event was a huge success, and the SUG President looks forward to seeing students at the next event, tagged "Old School/Rag Day.
