KHAIRUN Boosts Academic Excellence with Capacity Building Workshop for Staff

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, took a significant stride in enhancing its academic workforce on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, by hosting a one-day capacity building workshop for all academic staff.

Organized by the university’s Seminar and Public Lecture Committee, the event, themed “The Tripartite Roles of Teaching, Grading, and Reporting,” aimed to boost teaching effectiveness, refine grading practices, and uphold institutional standards.

The workshop was expertly facilitated by Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdulrashid Garba, mnae, mnla, ICASSON, fipbdm, who guided participants through an engaging session on the critical responsibilities of lecturers in maintaining academic integrity and excellence. His leadership underscored KHAIRUN’s dedication to fostering a robust educational framework, aligning with its unique curriculum that includes Qur’anic recitation, moral lessons, and entrepreneurship.

Throughout the day, attendees explored best practices in teaching methodologies, transparent grading systems, and effective academic reporting. Interactive segments and group discussions provided a platform for staff to exchange experiences and devise strategies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Professor Garba emphasized professionalism, accountability, and consistency as cornerstones of academic operations, noting that the workshop reinforces KHAIRUN’s commitment to a culture of excellence and quality assurance.
