Kogi Government Rescues Additional Students in CUSTECH Abduction Crisis
In the ongoing crisis surrounding the abduction of students from the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), the Kogi State Government, led by Governor Ododo, has announced the successful rescue of six additional students. This brings the total number of rescued victims to 20.

In a significant development, the Kogi State Government, under Governor Ododo's leadership, has announced the successful rescue of six more abducted students from the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH). This recent operation brings the total number of rescued victims to 20, marking a crucial advancement in the ongoing efforts to address the abduction crisis.

According to a release signed by Kingsley Femi Fanwor, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, the rescue operation involved a fierce gun battle between security operatives and the kidnappers. The combined efforts of local hunters and government security agencies led to the surrender of the kidnappers, who were overwhelmed by superior firepower. Some of the kidnappers sustained severe injuries, while others managed to escape.
Previously, nine students had been rescued, followed by the discovery of five more the next morning. With the safe return of the six recently rescued students, families have expressed relief and gratitude for their children's safe return home.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed profound appreciation to the Joint Forces involved in the rescue operations, urging them to persist until every student is accounted for.
