Kogi State House of Assembly Advances KASSEB Bill to Bridge Educational Gaps in Senior Secondary Education

The Kogi State House of Assembly, during a public hearing at its chamber in Lokoja, has initiated discussions on the bill aimed at establishing the Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board (KASSEB). Dr. Iyela Ajayi, the Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), attended the hearing to present a submission elaborating on the NSSEC Act 2023, commending both the Kogi State Government and the House of Assembly for their commitment to the KSSSEB Bill.

Dr. Ajayi highlighted the significance of this democratic process, emphasizing its role in domesticating the Senior Secondary Education Act, 2023. The proposed bill, when passed into law, is expected to regulate and provide necessary interventions for secondary education in Kogi State.

Alhaji Aliyu Umar Yusuf, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, commended Dr. Ajayi for being a good ambassador of the state and assured that the observations and recommendations would be duly considered to prevent conflicts between existing educational bodies and the proposed KSSSEB.
