The university's Registrar, Mr. Haruna Olawale Adetu, announced that this bio-pesticide aims to revolutionize the agricultural sector by addressing two critical issues. Firstly, it seeks to significantly reduce post-harvest losses caused by pest infestations during storage. Secondly, it provides a safer alternative to synthetic insecticides, which pose serious health risks due to their indiscriminate use on food items.
Professor Adeniyi Olatunbosun, SAN, Vice-Chancellor of KolaDaisi University, expressed immense pride in Dr. Karigidi’s achievement. "We are incredibly proud of Dr. Karigidi’s innovative work and the recognition it has garnered. This patent not only highlights the caliber of research conducted at KolaDaisi University but also reinforces our commitment to contributing to global agricultural advancements. We look forward to seeing the positive impact her invention will have on agriculture and food safety," remarked Professor Olatunbosun.
