KWASU Students Union Judicial Council Honours K.K Eleja SAN

The Students Union Judicial Council of Kwara State University (KWASU) held its annual Students Union Judicial Summit on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in honour of Kehinde Kolawole Eleja SAN, a legal practitioner recognised for his contributions to Nigeria's jurisprudence.

The summit, themed “Safeguarding Justice in Turbulent Times: Institutional Resilience and the Future of the Nigerian Judiciary,” featured the unveiling of the second edition of the Council’s Journal.

The Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, who was represented by the Dean, Faculty of Law, Professor Abdulwahab Elesin, commended the Students Union Judicial Council for organising the summit. He described the selection of Kehinde Kolawole Eleja SAN as an honourable and fitting recognition of a distinguished legal practitioner whose contributions to the legal profession remain significant.

The Vice Chancellor also described the unveiling of the journal as a commendable intellectual initiative that reflects the commitment of students to scholarship, legal discourse, and the advancement of knowledge.

The Chief Justice of the Students Union Judicial Council, Sultan Abdulquadir Waliyullah, expressed appreciation to the university management, guests, and participants for their support towards the success of the event.

He explained that the choice of Kehinde Kolawole Eleja SAN as honouree was informed by his exceptional contributions to the legal profession and his dedication to upholding the rule of law. 

He added that the recognition was aimed at inspiring students and celebrating individuals whose professional excellence continues to shape Nigeria’s legal landscape.

The summit attracted legal personalities, including the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Honourable Abiodun Ayodele Adebara who chaired the event; theguest speaker, Professor Mubaraq Adekilekun SAN; Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali who was the special guest of honour; the NBA Kwara Chapter Chairman, Sulyman Hassan Kosemani; and the Chairman of MULAN, Kwara Chapter, Dr. Taofeek Abdulraheem, among other dignitaries.
