Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, disclosed in a statement that the fire originated in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) room of the institutional hospital, specifically located at the Hematology Clinic of the Pre-Pharmacy block. Thanks to the prompt action from the Ikeja Fire Station, the fire was contained within the room of its origin, mitigating the risk of spreading to other areas within the hospital premises.

The emergency alert was received at 14:22 hours on Thursday, prompting an immediate response from the fire service. Through diligent efforts and swift action, responders successfully extinguished the fire without any reported casualties.
