LASU Expands Horizons with Landmark Partnerships

The Management of the Lagos State University (LASU) has strengthened its pursuit of academic excellence and global relevance by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with ten distinguished organisations.
The agreements, which span research, innovation, professional training, and industry collaboration, reaffirm the University’s commitment to impactful learning and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday, 18 August 2025, at the Senate Chamber, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Directors, LASU Consult Limited, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, described the partnership as a significant milestone. “Today marks more than the signing of a document. It is the formal sealing of a shared vision, one that unites academic excellence with practical innovation, scholarly rigour with industry expertise, and institutional values with societal needs,” she stated.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello emphasised that the collaborations provided LASU with platforms to amplify research outputs, foster cross-sectoral engagement, and accelerate the institution’s journey toward global recognition as the best university in West Africa. She further noted that the MoUs also granted partner organisations access to specialised knowledge, academic resources, and research-based solutions.
The Vice-Chancellor commended LASU Consult Limited, led by Professor Ibrahim Bakare, for its strategic foresight and dedication in bringing the partnerships to reality.
The ten organisations that signed MoUs with LASU are:

- Institute of Supervision and Leadership (ISL)
- Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN)
- KAP Film and Television Academy
- TC Resources Technologies (UK) Limited
- DLONG Media International Limited
- De Root Renaissance
- Energy Services Systems Managers Limited (ESSML)
- Universal Research Training Institute (URTI)
- Decent Work, Labour, and Skills Development Services
Representatives of the partner organisations lauded LASU’s visionary leadership and pledged commitment to advancing research, innovation, professional training, and community impact alongside the institution.
Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of a plaque to Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello by Mrs Uto Ukpanah, FCIS, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of ICSAN. In addition, Prof. Kayode Bowale, President of ISL, presented plaques and certificates of admission as Distinguished Fellow and Fellow of ISL to the Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Ibrahim Bakare, Director of LASU Consult Limited, respectively.
The Registrar, Mr Emmanuel A. Fanu, delivered the vote of thanks, rounding off a ceremony attended by principal officers of the University, members of LASU Consult’s Board of Directors, and officials from the Legal Affairs Division, led by its Director, Mrs Olajumoke O. Boyejo.
