Lux Mundi University in Umuahia, Abia State, has marked a significant milestone by becoming the first private university to receive approval to operate in the state capital. The university's founder and pro-chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Okenwa, presented the provisional license to Governor Alex Otti, who expressed his administration's commitment to supporting and partnering with private tertiary institutions in the state.

Governor Otti commended Prof. Okenwa for his achievements and expressed optimism about the positive impact Lux Mundi University would have on the education sector in Abia State. The university has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence operations with three faculties: Law, Management Sciences, and Arts and Social Sciences, offering a total of 11 programs.
