The university's founder and pro-chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Okenwa, presented the provisional license to Governor Alex Otti, who expressed his administration's commitment to supporting and partnering with private tertiary institutions in the state.

Governor Otti commended Prof. Okenwa for his achievements and expressed optimism about the positive impact Lux Mundi University would have on the education sector in Abia State. The university has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence operations with three faculties: Law, Management Sciences, and Arts and Social Sciences, offering a total of 11 programs.

During the presentation, Prof. Okenwa highlighted that the university's establishment occurred during Governor Otti's administration, acknowledging the governor's significant strides in office within a short period. The pro-chancellor was accompanied by Prof P. U Mbakwe, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Mrs. Blessing Ibebunjo, the acting registrar of the university.
