The Maltina Teacher of the Year award offers substantial monetary rewards to winners. The top prize is an impressive N10 million, making it one of the most coveted teaching awards in Nigeria. Additionally, the first runner-up receives N3 million, the second runner-up N2.5 million, and state champions are awarded N1 million each.

Since its inception, the Maltina Teacher of the Year award has honored a total of 241 exceptional teachers. The award is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and key stakeholders in education, such as the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
