MAU Yola to Graduate 7,094 Students at 29th/30th Combined Convocation; Set to Launch 20 New Academic Programmes
Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has announced it will graduate a total of 7,094 students during its 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Speaking at a pre-convocation press briefing held at the University Senate Chamber, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Umar, confirmed that the ceremony will honor graduands from the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
2023/2024 Session: 2,034 first-degree graduands, featuring 55 First Class honors, 599 Second Class Upper, 1,047 Second Class Lower, 330 Third Class, and three Pass degrees.
2024/2025 Session: 3,673 first-degree graduands, featuring 61 First Class honors, 1,199 Second Class Upper, 1,931 Second Class Lower, 479 Third Class, and three Pass degrees.
In addition to undergraduate honors, the university will award 454 diplomas and certificates, along with 933 postgraduate degrees.

The Vice-Chancellor also noted that the university is currently awaiting accreditation results for several core departments, including Civil Engineering, Building, Banking and Finance, and Business Education, following NUC assessments conducted in November 2025.
Professor Umar highlighted significant improvements in institutional governance and staff welfare. Key achievements include the successful clearance of staff allowances, the introduction of interest-free loan schemes, and the establishment of financial support for the families of deceased staff members.
The Vice-Chancellor concluded the briefing by expressing gratitude to the Adamawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for their continued partnership in promoting the university’s milestones.
