MAUTECH Yola Signs MoU with University of Garoua, Republic of Cameroon, to Strengthen Academic Collaboration

In a continued stride toward international academic collaboration, Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Garoua, Republic of Cameroon.

This partnership marks yet another significant milestone following similar engagements with the University of Maroua and the University of Ngaoundéré.

The MoU focuses on deepening academic cooperation through joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, innovation development, and mutual knowledge sharing. These key areas, are expected to enhance academic performance and promote cross-border educational growth.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of MAU, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Iliyasu Audu, warmly received the visiting delegation and reiterated the University’s full commitment to the terms of the MoU. He emphasized that the agreement aligns with MAU Yola's vision for expanding its academic reach and research output through global partnerships.

In his response, the Rector of the University of Garoua, Prof. Boubakari Oumarou, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended MAU Yola for its readiness to engage in collaborative efforts. He affirmed that the partnership would strengthen unity and accelerate academic progress between the two institutions.

As part of the visit, the delegation of the University of Garoua, was taken on a tour of key facilities across the MAU Yola campus. These included the University Academic Publishing Centre, the Central Laboratory, the IBB Library and the University Solar Farm. 

The facilities visited, reflect the University’s academic strength and research capabilities.

Following the signing of the MoU, the MAU management and the delegation from University of Garoua, paid a courtesy visit to the Government House, where they were received by the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta.

She highlighted the broader significance of the partnership, noting its potential to contribute meaningfully to the state's educational and economic development.

The visit also featured a courtesy call to the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, Ph.D, CFR, where the royal father gave his blessings. 

The delegation was later guided through the Palace Museum, where they explored the rich historical and cultural heritage of the region.

The visit concluded with a commemorative group photograph, symbolizing the beginning of a promising academic relationship between Modibbo Adama University and the University of Garoua.
