Our legal figure of this week is another intellectual academician, a renown expert in Law of Evidence and Procedure, Knowledgeable in Legal Method, Learned in both Substantive and Procedural Law.

He is Professor Yakubu Baba Hassan of Bayero University, Faculty of Law. He was born in Kogi state in March, 1966. He completed his Degree in Law at Bayero University Kano in 1992. He went to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, for the compulsory Law school training to be called to the Nigerian Bar. After he was called to the Bar, he went ahead and obtained his Masters Degree in Law. He then moved on and completed his PhD in Law with a flying color.

Professor Y.B Hassan is a widely read academician in the aspect of Law of Evidence, which is a fundamental and technical Course in the Procedural Law. His commitment has made him to handle his job diligently with passion and compassion. 

He is a master in the comparative study of sections and contents of the Evidence Laws and eloquently crystallizes the intricacies to identify the nature and different classes of admissible and inadmissible evidences.

His students speak of his outstanding qualities of being a principled teacher, an honest lecturer, and a moral father. He doesn't shy away from telling his students to be truthful, honest and focus in their chosen field of study, to make them become exemplary personalities in both Learning and Character.

Prof. Y. B hassan is a very a humble, resolute and focused person. He always encourages his students to acquiesce in some secondary assignments as law students, in view of the enormous challenges they will be facing in the course of their practicing life as Lawyers.

He is always seen as a man of inspiration and motivation to students. As a man with vast experience in Law of Procedure, he inspires his students to always feel capable of making it to their life dreams through hardworking and perseverance.

Prof. Y.B Hassan will be remembered for his tireless effort to groom knowledgeable students, to advocate for good behavior and to exhibit moral values.
