N-Power Beneficiaries to Receive 9-Month Allowance Backlogs

The Federal Government has announced its intention to initiate payments for a 9-month backlog of allowances owed to N-Power beneficiaries currently participating in the program.Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the N-Power National Programme Manager, confirmed this development in a statement issued by Hon. Jamaluddeen Kabir, the N-Power National Communication Manager, in Abuja, following a meeting with N-Power beneficiaries.
The suspension of the program was explained by Dr. Egbuwalo as a necessary measure to address all issues impacting beneficiaries, with a focus on the persistent problem of delayed stipend payments.

Dr. Egbuwalo assured transparency and accountability, emphasizing that the N-Power program would continue as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP) under the supervision of Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister. The program aims to expand and target 5 million beneficiaries over 5 years, with 1 million youths absorbed each year through the Graduate and Non-Graduate streams.

N-Power beneficiaries who had initially planned a national protest due to a lack of information expressed satisfaction after understanding the payment situation and the government's assurances. The beneficiaries pledged to remain patient while anticipating their payments, ensuring that no one is left behind in the renewed hope agenda of the federal government.
