Nasarawa State to Train Primary School Teachers in Elementary Mathematics
The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) has announced plans to train primary school teachers in elementary mathematics. The initiative aims to improve the quality of basic education in the state by enhancing teachers' skills in mathematics instruction.

The board plans to collaborate with the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) to provide the training. The department has initiated a "Community Service Engagement" program to train primary and secondary school teachers in elementary mathematics.
The Head of the Department of Mathematics at FULafia, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, highlighted the significance of mathematics in everyday life and lucrative professions. He emphasized the need to build a solid mathematics foundation in basic education to encourage children to embrace the subject.
The training is expected to enhance teachers' skills and improve students' understanding of mathematics, ultimately preparing them for a better future.
