Nasarawa State University Keffi Clears Air on Third Semester Policy

The management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has issued a clarification concerning the ongoing controversy surrounding the introduction of the Third Semester Policy. According to university officials, misinformation is being spread by certain individuals aiming to incite student unrest by portraying the policy as compulsory.

The Third Semester Policy, approved by the University Senate, was designed as a voluntary initiative. It allows students who are unable to graduate due to outstanding academic issues to retake failed courses during an additional semester, enabling them to graduate with their peers rather than wait for the next academic year.

Despite its optional nature, some elements within the university community have falsely claimed that the administration intends to enforce the policy, raising concerns among students. These false claims have created tension during the ongoing second-semester examinations.
