Newgate College of Health Technology Hosts 5th Medical Laboratory Technician Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony

Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, has successfully conducted its 5th Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony for graduates of the Medical Laboratory Technician Department, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to producing highly skilled and ethically grounded healthcare professionals for Nigeria's healthcare system.

The memorable ceremony was held at the Engr. A. A. Kure Auditorium, Newgate University, Minna, and attracted representatives of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), healthcare professionals, members of the academic community, parents, guardians, alumni, invited guests, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate this significant professional milestone.

Delivering the welcome address on behalf of the College Management, the Provost warmly welcomed all guests and expressed sincere appreciation to the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, parents, guardians, partners, and stakeholders for their invaluable support and confidence in the College's vision of developing competent healthcare professionals.

Addressing the graduands, the Provost, Mrs Queendaline Opara Iwuala congratulated them on reaching an important stage in their professional journey and urged them to uphold the core values of integrity, professionalism, discipline, and excellence in the discharge of their duties. She emphasized the indispensable role of Medical Laboratory Technicians in disease diagnosis, patient care, public health, and the overall advancement of healthcare delivery.

The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the Professional Oath, through which the graduands formally pledged to uphold the ethics and standards of the profession. This was followed by the issuance of Operational Licences to the newly inducted Medical Laboratory Technicians, authorizing them to begin professional practice in accordance with the regulations of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

The ceremony also featured goodwill messages and moments of celebration as families, friends, lecturers, and guests joined the newly inducted professionals in commemorating the successful completion of their training and their transition into professional practice.

Since its establishment in 2014, Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, has continued to distinguish itself as a centre of excellence in health sciences education, producing graduates who are making meaningful contributions to healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
