NgREN Visits Bayero University for Eduroam Deployment and Identity Onboarding

The Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) team visited Bayero University Kano (BUK) to deploy eduroam, a global Wi-Fi roaming service, and introduce the NgRENID platform, a secure identity management system.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, highlighted the benefits of NgREN, including high-speed internet connectivity, collaborative research, digital content delivery, cost-effective infrastructure, and enhanced cybersecurity. He noted that the partnership would enhance the university's research capabilities and academic environment.

The NgREN team explained that eduroam allows students, researchers, and staff to securely access internet services across participating institutions worldwide. The NgRENID platform provides efficient and secure access management for academic services and resources.
