Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has praised the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence in Nigeria and beyond. 

During a courtesy visit to the Government House on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the new Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Professor Nora Daduut, led other council members in paying their respects to the Governor as part of their assumption of duties formalities.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in FUTA's leadership under Professor Adenike Oladiji, emphasizing the university's remarkable achievements. He lauded FUTA as one of Nigeria's most peaceful campuses, maintaining a stable academic calendar. The university's graduates continue to excel in various fields, setting the pace for others.

Senator Daduut, appreciating the government and people of Akure, highlighted the enabling environment for teaching and research. She described FUTA as a humble yet intellectually vibrant community, with its graduates making significant contributions globally.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, expressed gratitude for Governor Aiyedatiwa's responsiveness to the university's needs. She emphasized the mutually beneficial relationship between FUTA and the government.

Senator Daduut's visit signifies the ongoing collaboration between FUTA and the Ondo State Government. The council members, including Pastor Sikiru Adebayo Raji, Hon. Sylvester Ogbonna Ogbaga, Hajia Rafaatu Garba Hammani, and Rt. Hon. Kenneth Olawale (a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly), are poised to contribute their expertise to further enhance the university's growth.
