Nigerians have voiced their shock and grief over the loss of Ifunanya, who lost her life while attempting to escape from what she believed was a genuine robbery inside a keke napep (tricycle). The incident, staged by a fellow UNIZIK student for what was intended to be a harmless prank video, went horribly wrong, resulting in Ifunanya's fatal injuries as she leapt from the moving vehicle.

The tragic outcome has reignited a fierce debate on the appropriateness and safety of pranks, particularly those staged for entertainment or social media content.

"It should be banned and not only that, these guys responsible should face the law," demanded another, highlighting the severity of consequences sought by some within the community.

The incident has different opinions, with some questioning the ethical implications of staging pranks involving sensitive matters such as robbery or violence. "If they had succeeded it wouldn't be a prank, as they didn't succeed is now prank, Nigeria we hail thee," remarked a concerned citizen, echoing the sentiment that such actions should not be taken lightly.

Calls for justice have also been vocalized, with demands for thorough investigations into the circumstances of the prank and potential legal repercussions for those involved. "He should be punished for pranking with such a sensitive matter as kidnapping but he should be thoroughly investigated before being convicted as a kidnapper or a robber," stated a UNIZIK faculty member, emphasizing due process.

Furthermore, criticisms have been directed towards the choice of Ifunanya as the target of the prank, given her occupation as a Point of Sale (PoS) operator. "Why choose someone who is a PoS operator? Didn't he see other pranksters? The guy is an armed robber, period. He should be sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor," expressed a concerned citizen, underscoring the seriousness of the allegations.
