Nile University Students Selected for Japan Social Innovator Hub Program
Nile University students chosen for prestigious Japan Social Innovator Hub Program, enhancing global collaboration and business innovation.
Nile University of Nigeria recently hosted a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), marking an important milestone in the university's commitment to global collaboration and innovation. The delegation, led by JICA Nigeria's Chief Representative, Yuzuro Susumu, and including Programme Coordinator Hamza Gomina and Representative Ito Sakura, met with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dilli Dogo.
During the visit, the JICA team announced that two student entrepreneurs from Nile University have been selected to represent Nigeria at the Social Innovator Hub (SIH) Programme in Japan. This prestigious seven-week co-creation programme, hosted at Tohoku University from August to September 2024, will bring together participants from Japan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Peru, and Mongolia to address social challenges through business innovation.

The Nile University team, including Dr. Modupe Fausat Aleshinloye, Dean of Student Affairs, and Mrs. Binta Gali Agbonika, Manager of the Honoris Collective Lab, welcomed the delegation and expressed their excitement about this opportunity.
The SIH Programme aims to nurture the next generation of social innovators by equipping them with practical methodologies to develop business ideas that address social issues. Participants will have the opportunity to present their innovative solutions to potential investors, paving the way for impactful change.
