NLC Writes ASUU To Mobilize For Nationwide Strike Action

Myschoolnews reports the Nigerian Labour Congress recently announced plans to go on a nationwide strike action in protest of the removal of the fuel subsidy by the federal government and the corresponding scarcity of fuel.
In a letter to the unions by the NLC General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, the congress revealed it was going ahead with it's strike action.
The letter reads in part "Please be informed that the nationwide action will commence on Wednesday, 7th June 2023. To this effect, all National Leadership are expected to mobilise their members for the action and ensure full compliance with the directives as services in both the public and private sectors are expected to be fully withdrawn by Wednesday, 7th June 2023.
“All Presidents and General Secretaries are expected to help ensure the implementation of the decisions of the National Executive Council,”
It would be recalled that the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu had in his Innaugural speech announced the removal of the fuel subsidy regime which has led to disagreements from certain quarters.
