OAU, Unilorin, Covenant University Undergraduates Shine At DecaHack Competition
Undergraduates from Obafemi Awolowo University, the University of Ilorin, and Covenant University have been recognized for their innovative blockchain projects at the DecaHack competition, sponsored by Internet Computer Protocol (ICP).

Sponsored by Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), the event celebrated innovative blockchain projects, showcasing Nigeria's growing tech talent.

The DecaHack pitch event, organized by ICP.Hub Sahara in collaboration with the Cryptography Development Initiative in Nigeria (CDIN), took place at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja. The competition featured 15 innovative projects, each leveraging blockchain technology in unique ways—from decentralized blogging platforms to AI-powered trading bots.
Adedayo Adebajo, Co-founder of ICP’Hub Sahara, expressed pride in the success of the event. "The DecaHack event was a resounding success, showcasing the ingenuity and creativity of blockchain innovators in Nigeria," he stated. He highlighted that five outstanding projects were selected after a thorough evaluation by a panel of blockchain experts.

The standout projects included:
- Certify: A blockchain-based platform for issuing and verifying academic certificates.
- Quotex: An innovative solution for secure and transparent financial transactions.
- Propspace: A decentralized property management system.
- ICBot: An AI-powered trading bot designed for cryptocurrency markets.
- DBlogx: A decentralized blogging platform optimized for SEO.
Each of these projects is eligible for a $5000 reward, though final awards will depend on further evaluation of their practical applications.
Adebajo emphasized the importance of such events in nurturing future entrepreneurs. "With the unwavering support of ICP and CDIN, the event provided an invaluable platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their projects, connect with industry experts, and vie for recognition and rewards," he said.
