Ondo Varsity Lecturer Warns Against Deforestation

Professor Alaba Gbadamosi, a renowned expert in Silviculture and Plant Biotechnology at Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has issued a strong warning against the rampant deforestation occurring across Nigeria.

During his inaugural lecture titled "The Earth's Heating Mantle: Forest to the Rescue," Professor Gbadamosi emphasized the urgent need for stakeholders to take action to curb deforestation in the country.

He also emphasized the importance of addressing poverty in tropical nations with extensive forest resources, highlighting the role of socioeconomic factors in environmental conservation efforts.
