OOUTH Receives Charge from Ogun State Head of Service to Prioritize Affordable Healthcare
The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) recently received a directive from the Ogun State Head of Service, urging the institution to prioritize affordable healthcare services.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwabunmi M. Fatungase, alongside the Hospital Management team, recently paid a Courtesy Visit to Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the newly appointed 20th Ogun State Head of Service. The purpose of the visit was to extend congratulations and seek support from the Head of Service's office, continuing a tradition of collaboration with past Heads of Service to address institutional challenges and prevent industrial disputes.

During the visit, the CMD highlighted the importance of maintaining a focus on affordable healthcare service delivery at OOUTH. She emphasized the need to prioritize patient care over revenue generation and underscored the significance of safeguarding and optimizing the use of recently acquired medical equipment and infrastructure, including CT Scan and Mamogram machines, provided by the Ogun State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Prince Dapo Abidoun.
In response, Mr. Onasanya affirmed his office's commitment to collaboration, ensuring that OOUTH staff receive equitable benefits enjoyed by other civil servants in the state. He stressed the importance of OOUTH's role as the flagship institution for the Ogun State National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), urging all staff to enroll in the scheme to promote affordable healthcare service delivery. Mr. Onasanya highlighted the value of prioritizing personal health among healthcare workers, echoing the sentiment that "My health is my wealth."
