Oyebanji Congratulates Ekiti Pupil Faith Ogundola, Winner of NERC Energy Essay Competition

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Miss Faith Ayomide Ogundola for emerging as the overall winner of the 2024 Energy Essay Competition, organized by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) for SS2 students across Nigeria. Ogundola, a student of Ekiti State University (EKSU) International College, Ado Ekiti, secured the top position in the competition with her essay on the topic, “How does the New Customer Protection Regulation (CPR 2023) Protect the Rights & Obligations of Electricity Customers?”

NERC, in a tweet via its official X handle, noted that over 500 SS2 students from across the country participated in the competition, which was marked by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji expressed pride in the accomplishments of Ekiti students, crediting the success to the state government's continued investment in education. He emphasized that Ekiti youths have shown they can compete on both national and global platforms.

Governor Oyebanji further stated that his administration remains committed to providing opportunities for Ekiti youths to showcase their talents, while also celebrating those who excel in their respective fields.
