Police Arrest Osun Prince Over Killing of US-Based Lecturer

The Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of Eniola Oyeyode, an Oyo prince, in connection to the killing of United States-based lecturer, Richard Idowu. Idowu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, was shot at Oyeyode’s residence during an incident that occurred after the 50th Coronation Anniversary of the Ogiyan of Ejigbo.

According to reports, Oyeyode instructed a civilian guard to fire his double-barrel gun into the air, but the guard instead shot directly at Idowu, who later died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ejigbo. The incident has led to tension among residents, and the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.
