Redeemer’s University Swears In New RUNSA Executives for 2025/2026 Session
Redeemer’s University Swears In New RUNSA Executives for 2025/2026 Session
A new set of executives for the Redeemer’s University Students Association (RUNSA) 2025/2026 session has been sworn in. The swearing-in took place at the Senate Chambers, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Fourteen executives, led by Iniongun John Terfa as president, took the oath of allegiance to the university and the oath of office at a ceremony witnessed by the principal officers of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, charged the new executives to “believe in what the university stands for and learn from what happened in the past.”
He reminded the new executive committee that “a similar exercise took place here precisely on October 14, 2025. On that day, I spoke about four things to the leaders then.”
He mentioned the four things to be: Service, to which God alone is the Rewarder, due to the sacrifices required of a leader. “Your leadership is not to lord it over your fellow students. You are to serve them,” he noted.
Secondly, he emphasised the importance of being law-abiding in their conduct and upholding the rules and regulations as they carry out their duties. “The way you conduct yourself should reflect that you are in a Christian university,” he said.
Thirdly, he mentioned the need to cooperate with the university management to move the university forward.
Lastly, the Vice-Chancellor charged the new executives to make a positive impact and learn lessons from the immediate past set of 2025/2026 executives that was dissolved.
Responding, Iniongun, the RUNSA president, thanked the university management for the opportunity to serve. “To our esteemed Vice-Chancellor and the University leadership, we acknowledge your guidance, your standards, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. We do not see ourselves in opposition to management, but in partnership working hand in hand to strengthen the legacy and vision of Redeemer's University.”
Iniongun, a 300L Public Health student, added, “One of our foremost priorities is the RUNSA Secretariat Project. I wish to clearly state that the approved plans and detailed costing for this project are already on the table. This is not an idea in formation; it is a project ready for execution.
“Immediately, a proper handover is concluded, the secretariat will be the first order of business for this administration. We understand its strategic importance to the stability, efficiency, and institutional memory of RUNSA, and we are fully committed to seeing it through.”
