Undeterred, she went on to establish 'SRS Aviation,' Africa's pioneering female-owned aviation company.

In 2004, Sambo launched 'SRS Aviation,' marking the inception of Africa's first female-owned aviation company. The company initially operated airborne services, providing clients with personalized flight options to destinations worldwide. It is a trailblazer as the first Black woman-owned aviation enterprise.
The journey to establish her business was arduous, involving personal sacrifices such as selling her car and utilizing her mother's pension funds. Overcoming numerous challenges, Sambo secured an Air Operating Certificate from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), allowing her company to conduct commercial flying activities.

Sambo highlighted that shortly after starting her business, she secured her first flight commission for the South African government. Today, she stands as one of Africa's leading women entrepreneurs in traditionally male-dominated industries.
In her pursuit to empower women in the professional arena, Sambo established strategic partnerships. Collaborating with MCC Aviation, a reputable fixed and rotor wing Air Charter service provider, she gained access to a fleet of aircraft and essential operational support.

Sambo is actively working to increase female representation in professional careers through her association with Women of Color in Aviation & Aerospace in the United States and her membership in Women in Aviation International (WAI). In a notable act of mentorship, she helped three women obtain their private pilot licenses, with all three joining her company full-time.
“I’m where I am today because somebody invested in me. It’s my opportunity now to invest in other people,” shared Sambo.
