Sa’adu Zungur University Community Celebrates Vice-Chancellor Prof. Fatimah Tahir on Her Birthday

The Management, staff, and students of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZUB), formerly Bauchi State University, have come together to extend their warmest felicitations to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir, on the occasion of her birthday. 

In a congratulatory message released by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Hassan, the university community lauded Professor Tahir for her transformative impact on the institution since her historic appointment as the university’s first female Vice-Chancellor.

The tribute highlighted Professor Tahir’s "exemplary leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence." Under her administration, the university has seen significant strides in infrastructural development and the strengthening of academic programs. 

"We celebrate a leader whose dedication to institutional development is matched only by her passion for the welfare of students and staff," the statement read. "May Almighty Allah grant you continued good health, wisdom, and success as you lead Sa’adu Zungur University to even greater heights." 

Affectionately referred to as "Mama Vice-Chancellor" by the student body, Professor Tahir is widely recognized for her approachable leadership style and her role as a mentor to young academics, particularly women in STEM across Northern Nigeria.

The university community joins her family and well-wishers in praying for many more years of impactful service to humanity and the Nigerian educational sector.
