Vice-Chancellor of SUN pays courtesy visit to National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala-Kano
The Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V. and other staff of the university have today 16th July, 2024 paid a courtesy visit to the National Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH), Dala, Kano.

Their visit was to establish ties between SUN and the hospital thereby improving the effective delivery of medical education to students and also to support the hospital in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills among others.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that with effective collaboration, SUN medical students will be able to have diverse experiences when supported by medical experts. He also noted that the university will ensure its relationship with the hospital is sustained so that it can benefit the Kano communities and Nigeria at large, especially through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He then commended the management of the hospital for its warm reception.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of National Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH), Dala, Kano, Dr. Nuruddeen Isa who received the SUN delegation stated that the management is pleased with the visit. He explained that the hospital carries out important activities such as research and training. In terms of clinical services, he added that they mainly offer orthopaedics and plastic surgery.

Dr. Isa also highlighted other trainings which include postgraduate training for doctors and consultants. He said since its establishment in 1959, the hospital has trained many medical practitioners that can be found within and outside the country. He appreciated SUN for offering medical courses like Nursing, Physiotherapy and Medical Laboratory Science which showcases its expansion.
Dr. Isa then assured the Vice-Chancellor that the hospital is willing to collaborate with the university so that they can uplift the standard of medical education in Nigeria.
Staff who accompanied SUN Vice-Chancellor include Dr. Isa Usman Lawal, the dean School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS) and Mr. Umar Faruk Isma’il, corporate affairs executive at SUN.
