This generous contribution, celebrated during the groundbreaking event held at the Yusuf Grillo Hall of the college, marks a significant milestone in the institution's journey towards fostering innovation and empowering students for future success.
Jason Ayodeji, Chairman of SSANIP Yabatech Chapter, expressed delight and gratitude for Mr. Fanimokun's benevolent gesture, emphasizing the profound impact it will have on the students' career development. The entrepreneurship centre, to be named the Folawiyo Entrepreneurship Centre in honor of the late Wahab Folawiyo, founder of Yinka Folawiyo Conglomerate, is poised to provide students with invaluable resources, guidance, and networking opportunities essential for nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit.
Mr. Ayodeji highlighted the pivotal role of entrepreneurship centres in shaping students' futures, fostering innovation, and nurturing creativity. He emphasized that such facilities empower students to explore and develop their entrepreneurial skills, paving the way for successful ventures in various fields.
The Folawiyo Entrepreneurship Centre will stand as a distinguished four-story building, featuring state-of-the-art amenities including lecture theatres with seating capacities of 320 and 500, classrooms, office spaces, vocational areas, and ample parking facilities. This modern infrastructure is poised to create an enabling environment where students can thrive and realize their entrepreneurial aspirations.
SSANIP Yabatech Chapter also commended the efforts of Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, Rector of Yabatech, for his proactive initiatives in securing such a significant endowment for the institution. Dr. Abdul's leadership and dedication to enhancing the college's academic and infrastructural landscape have been instrumental in propelling Yabatech towards excellence.
Tunde Fanimokun, a retired Permanent Secretary from the Lagos State Civil Service, and former Executive Director of Projects under the late Wahab Folawiyo, stands as a beacon of philanthropy and dedication to community development.
