The Pro-Chancellor of Topfaith University, Prof. Akaneren Essien (FNSAP, OON), has received Honorary Award from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, during the University’s recent Summer Graduation, Myschoolnews gathered.
The Honorary Award, according to the University Management, is “In recognition of his transformational leadership and dedication to higher education in Nigeria, and for his contributions to setting up a network of Universities in Nigeria for the University of Bradford to work with.”
Prof. Essien is a Professor of Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition, University of Calabar. His commitment has seen him through as Head of Department of Animal Science, Dean of Agriculture, Chairman Committee of Deans, Deputy Vice (Academic), Acting Vice-Chancellor, UNICAL, Vice-Chancellor, University of Uyo, and Visiting Scholar, National University Commission (NUC). He is a member of Academic and Professional bodies, and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Animal Production.
Together with the Pro-Chancellor is the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Topfaith University, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham.
In 2022, he received a National Merit Award as Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). The National Honor was awarded by former Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari.
