Former Permanent Secretary in Lagos State, Tunde Fanimokun, has made a remarkable philanthropic gesture by donating 150 hectares of land to Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) for the establishment of a Green Campus. The land, situated at the Apapa/Badagry axes, comes with a vision to promote entrepreneurship and education in Nigeria.
Fanimokun's generous contribution was announced during the celebration of his 80th birthday, his entry into Chief Folawiyo Conglomerate, and his daughter's birthday. The donation, made at no cost to the institution, demonstrates Fanimokun's commitment to advancing sustainable development and empowering future generations.
Included in the donation is a plan for a state-of-the-art ₦3.5 billion entrepreneurship center, named the Folawiyo Entrepreneurship Centre, in honor of his mentor, Alhaji Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo, the founding father of Yinka Folawiyo Conglomerate. This center is poised to become a hub for innovation, creativity, and skill development, catering to the evolving needs of Nigeria's entrepreneurial landscape.
