The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) organized a Heroes Day celebration to honor the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, and retired lecturers.

He emphasized the importance of education, university governance, and the need for motivated lecturers and conducive learning facilities.

ASUU National Chairman, Prof. Emmanuel Victor Osodeke, represented by Prof. Abubakar Sabo Yabo, praised the outgoing VC's impact and leadership. Awards were presented to Prof. Bilbis and retired ASUU members, including a posthumous award to pioneer DVC, Prof. Yusuf Saidu.
