The University of Abuja welcomed the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as he engaged with the institution during the National Association of Agricultural Students’ (NAAS) first annual international conference.

UNIABUJA Hosts Minister of Agriculture for NAAS International Conference on Youth and Food Security

The University of Abuja welcomed the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as he engaged with the institution during the National Association of Agricultural Students’ (NAAS) first annual international conference.

The event, themed “Youth, Agriculture, and Innovation in the Renewed Hope Era: Driving Food Security and National Development,” highlighted collaboration between the ministry and university students.

Senator Kyari emphasized the ministry’s commitment to expanding partnerships with the University and working with young people to tackle food security and drive national development. He stated, “We will continue to partner, especially in those areas where we feel challenged, not only by climate change, which is the big monster out there, but also in other areas where universities can play a role in providing solutions.”

The minister was received by members of the University management, including the Senior Special Assistant on Administrative Matters, Professor Mohammed Katcha; the Senior Special Assistant on Academics, Professor Rhoda Mundi; and the Acting Registrar, Malam Mohammad Sambo, who represented the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu.
