UniAbuja Receives NUC Accreditation Teams, Commits to Implementing Recommendations
The University of Abuja on Tuesday hosted the exit briefing of the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation teams for the Biochemistry, Zoology, and Medical Laboratory Science programmes, marking the conclusion of the November/December 2025 accreditation exercise.

The BSc Zoology team was led by Professor Sammy Sam-Wobo, the Biochemistry team by Professor Mohammed Milala, and the Medical Laboratory Science team by Professor Avwioro Godwin. The three teams commended the University for its strong level of preparedness, the quality of its laboratories and equipment, and the professionalism demonstrated by academic and technical staff. They also outlined specific areas requiring enhancement to ensure sustained programme quality.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Mathew Adamu expressed appreciation for the evaluators’ thorough assessments, describing their feedback as both constructive and essential for continuous improvement. He assured the teams that their recommendations would be escalated to the University Management and acted upon diligently.

“I am genuinely pleased with the observations shared during this exercise,” Professor Adamu said. “You have clearly outlined what we need to strengthen, and I thank you sincerely for that. The University will adopt your recommendations fully and use them to elevate our academic standards.”
