UNILAG Alumna Named Top 3 Finalist at 2023 CAHR Awards
Dr. Bukola Amao-Taiwo, an alumna of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has once again demonstrated the institution's core values of excellence in learning and character by emerging as one of the top three finalists in the "Hajiya Gambo Sawaba Community Impact Award (Individual)" category at the 2023 Community and Human Rights (CAHR) Awards.
Dr. Amao-Taiwo's nomination in this category recognizes her remarkable contributions to community development, including infrastructure development, and empowerment of women entrepreneurs, youth, and graduates, among other positive impacts.
Expressing her elation at receiving this prestigious award, Dr. Amao-Taiwo emphasized that being among the top three finalists inspires her to continue her efforts in contributing to a better future for all.

In 2021, Dr. Amao-Taiwo earned her PhD in Educational Administration and Planning from UNILAG's Department of Education Management before joining the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre (ESDC) at UNILAG.
The 2023 CAHR Awards ceremony, where plaques and certificates of recognition were presented to the winners and runners-up in various categories, took place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The event was held during the 12th Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) Conference at the Four Points by Sheraton in Lagos, Nigeria.
Dr. Amao-Taiwo received cheers and support from her colleagues, including the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre (ESDC) at UNILAG, Professor Sunday Adebisi, Deputy Director Dr. Oladimeji Odetunde, and other ESDC team members. Additionally, a representative from the Communication Unit at the University of Lagos, Nike Ogunshakin, was in attendance to celebrate her achievement.
Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, on behalf of the entire university community, commended Dr. Bukola Amao-Taiwo for representing the institution admirably through her display of excellence in character and extended her hearty congratulations for this well-deserved recognition.
